This Historic Day

I am so happy that I was able to sit and watch in awe on this historic day! Our first African American President!! WOW!!!

I was glued to the TV from the moment I woke up this morning. The kids were watching a show on Nickelodeon and I had to tell them to change it to another channel. They needed to be watching everything that was going on in the nation's capitol (all the people at the mall, the motorcade, etc..) even though there was another hour or so before Barack Obama was sworn into office. This is history! I told them "you want to be able to tell your kids or grandkids that you watched it on TV and saw it live instead of saying I missed it because I was watching ICarly". KIDS.

Anyway.....

It was exciting to see all those people from all across America to be in the same place History was taking place. AWESOME! It was packed in DC. The news this morning showed the metro stations and they had long winding lines outside in the parking lot just to get inside the metro station. They even said some trains couldn't even stop to pick up new passengers waiting to get on because the cars were already so full.

I have to admit I was a bit jealous that we (Kevin , the kids and I) weren't there to experience it, since we live only about 25 minutes away (on a regular day)........but that's alright. Kevin came home for lunch about 15 minutes before Barack Obama got sworn in to office. We all watched it from our living room couch and that was good enough. We smiled, got teary eyed, clapped and cheered!! It was amazing!

Let's pray that the Lord will protect President Obama and his family. That He will guide President Obama and give him the wisdom he will need to guide our country in the right direction, help him make wise and honorable decisions. That his family will be protected, have joy and for their roles as supporters and encourgers.

“A nation without God's guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God's law!” Proverbs 29:18
