Top Ten Tuesday: Things To Do This Week
It is going to be one busy week for me especially since I work full time and can't do any of this stuff until after work. *sigh*
1. Bake cookies - 6 dozen to be exact. I am going to my first cookie exchange party which is tomorrow. A couple of ladies from work are hosting it, then since everyone from work will be there, it's also our work Christmas Party. Should be fun. I am making Monster Cookies. I have never made them or had them before so hopefully it will turn out good. Of course I'll have my little elves taste them as they come out the oven to make sure they are good enough to pack.
2. Make chicken eggrolls for my husbands Christmas Party. He wants me to make about 80 of them. I will prep them after my christmas party, then roll, and fry them the morning of his party so they are warm and crispy. That means I have to get up at about 5:30 am. Oh Joy!
3. SHOP, SHOP, SHOP!! I haven't even started yet. Well, I take that back. I bought two things online. Every year I tell myself, I will start early and not procrastinate, and what do I do. Wait until the last minute to start shopping. Yup, I'm one of the ones on Christmas Eve still shopping. Aaarrgghhh!!
4. Wrap the presents I buy this week. Same as shopping, every year I tell myself to wrap as I buy them and not procrastinate, but what do I do.....I wait until Christmas Eve when the kids are in bed to start wrapping the presents then I am up til 1am, grouchy and rushing. My plan is not to do that this year.
5. Watch Christmas movies. I haven't watched any yet - I am so dissappointed. So hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in a couple this week. My favs I like to watch each year are Elf, The Christmas Story, Charlie Brown Christmas, Polar Express, Christmas Vacation.
6. Drive around the neighborhoods looking at lights. The kids really enjoy doing that each year.
7. Take the kids to the dollar store so they can shop for gifts.
8. I would like to go see the Festival of Lights in MD and they also have international nativity scenes inside the church and a live nativity scene outside. Sounds neat. This would be our first time going.
9. Buy a gift to donat to charity.
10. Read Christmas stories.
